Harper Lee Has Died At 89

The author of To Kill a Mockingbird has passed.  I felt this was appropriate to share as her book has been read by nearly every public school child and we have that collective memory of Scout and Atticus tucked away in the folds of our middle school subconscious.

    I saw this in facebook earlier today and it did make me sad. However the author will always live on through her work. That book is one that actually opened my eyes to racism, segregation, and injustice in our world. I will definitely be requiring it with our homeschool journey.
