Extend Solar Tax Benefits

In 2014, the solar industry added jobs at a rate that was 10 times faster than the rest of the economy, fueled in large part by the ITC's important tax benefits for solar producers, both in private homes and for businesses. As more and more people make the switch to clean energy for their homes, solar installation and the industry behind it is benefiting hardworking families, and the planet.

All of that could soon come to a screeching halt. Big Polluters like the Koch Brothers are going to do everything they can to block the extension of crucial tax benefits for the solar industry, which are set to expire Dec. 31, 2016.

Help me save the solar industry! Send a message to Congress today asking them to extend critical solar tax benefits.

Thank you!

Permaculture is about ethical treatment of all Humans as well as Nature

Permaculture includes "the building of stable communities through
harmonious inter-relationships of all humans."
"We will either survive together or none of us will survive. In
Nature we see integrated ecosystems where different elements are all
bound together in mutually beneficial relationships. We have to start
looking at human society the same way. Life should be cooperative
rather then competitive. It is only our choices that make competition a
central part of how we interact with each other."
Competition is cultural and optional!

I just signed this petition -- will you?

I just signed a petition calling on Congress to not gut the Land and Water Conservation Fund -- America's most important and successful land conservation program -- and instead fully fund and permanently authorize this crucial program.

Join me and sign this petition:

Meet the Once-Homeless Man Who Revolutionized How We Care for the Homeless

This article was discussed at our Membership Meeting in relation to our on-going homeless project here at the Garden.  It is quite thought provoking.  Are we just going to be a band-aid or are we a cog in a much larger wheel?  I suppose we will find out soon enough.

Another homeless article has me up in arms, and I'm sure it will you also:

Having slept in my car and depended on the goodwill of others throughout my life, I hope we can be more than a little band-aid.  And I pray that everyone who reads this is sleeping well tonight in a warm, safe place, and no tummy rumblings.

Much love to you all.

So, you think you can't get eyeglasses?

Thanks to a neighbor, I have learned of New-Eyes.Org.  On their website, you will find an application you can print and fill out and then take to your family doctor to have them submit the form on your behalf.  If you have no other eye insurance or assistance, this is definitely worth looking into.  And please pass this along to anyone you know who may be in need.

Membership Meeting Reminder

One last note to encourage attendance for this Sunday's Annual Membership Meeting, 3 PM, at the Plantory on 6th Street.

If you have any agenda items, please send them directly to Rev. Sonny.  And be prepared for potluck and social time after the meeting.

May you all have a Blessed Father's Day weekend. Much love and many hugs to you all.

I just signed this petition -- will you?

I just took action to urge Congress to pass the ACHE Act, which would enact a moratorium on mountaintop removal coal mining.

I think you should too: http://act.credoaction.com/sign/end_mtr_ache_act?referring_akid=a200584328.8687942.484yYI&source=conf_email
