No more national parks?

I just signed a petition telling Congress to stop the campaign to sell off America's public lands to the highest bidder. Say no to locked gates and no trespassing signs in our public lands.

Save the Bees

I just took action to urge the EPA to ban bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides once and for all.

I think you should too: http://act.credoaction.com/sign/epa_neonics_ban?sp_ref=118722921.4.12448.e.50442.2&referring_akid=.8687942.fmDu-a&source=mailto_sp

Go Red for Equality and Happy Earth Day

I tried to post this earlier, seems I am having technical difficulties...

anyway.  There are some important things coming up for marriage equality and if it is something you believe in, take a moment to turn your social media red for some change.

Get the info from HRC here:  http://www.hrc.org/red

Hope you all had a wonderful Earth Day!

We are on facebook!

If you are interested in our group page on fb, it can be found here:

Illegal water withdrawal during drought

I just signed a petition calling on the U.S. Forest Service to immediately halt Nestlé's illegal water withdrawal during California's drought. Nestlé is extracting water and making millions in profit even though its permit to do so expired over 27 years ago.

Join me and sign this petition:

Loose Pigs?

This has been a wacky month in Lexington. First a bull ran loose on UK campus and now pigs are wandering from yard to yard...

"They" formally used as a gender-neutral pronoun

As you can see, I have been bouncing around the entertainment news this morning. It is one of those things in which I occasionally take guilty pleasure.

Whilst browsing about this morning, I found an article with this editor note:

"This article uses "they" as a gender-neutral, singular pronoun in an effort to respect the young Jolie-Pitt's gender identity, whatever that may end up being."

I thought some of the gardeners would be interested in this based on our Compassionate Language presentation and discussion earlier this year.

There is something wrong with that boy

Wish I had found this during all the bad snow.

Supercell...

Did y'all see that?  The family just came over to my apartment to sit out the storm. (Much safer than trailer.)
I hope everyone is safe, well, and still has the lights on.  We were blessed here to be passed over by the funnel clouds.
Couldn't find a picture from tonight to share, but found this one from 2009 taken in Christian County.

Ramblings and Save the Date

Greetings Programs!~

I have been in and out of late with thoughts of "I should post this or share that", but nothing seems to stick.  The funniest of these passing thoughts was to comment on the running of the bull in Lexington this past week when that poor bovine escaped the lab and ran amuk on UK campus.
New Moon Circle had a very nice Ostara ritual and potluck.  Thank you again, Sue, for taking lead on that and doing a fantastic job.  The sacrifice of the chocolate duck was just awesome too!

Something I found today that I wanted to share was the Spring Concert of the EKU Dance Theater.  I have attended this many times in the past and just love it every time.
